URBEX-THE NEW SAGA

Recently, a new phase of outdoor persuit has came to light; urban exploring. This consists of finding old, delapidated derelict buildings or warehouses, going in and showcasing this by taking photos usually. Of course this involves tresspassing which is illegal, however the excitement of exploring these forgotten pieces of history has a certain allure to, and I for one have a fervour for this.

I find there is an intrinsic satisfaction in exploring-it's in our nature, so having such great access to these opportunities really is great.

These pictures I took are from Stanley North Dock, in the Tobacco Warehouse; the unmitigated scale of this building is breathtaking: the largest brick building in the world, outside Russia. That in itself is a grand title, and this reputation is only increased once you enter its grounds. This grade II listed building is my favourite space to be in-when you're 38m up in the air looking over your city, you come to realise the industrial beauty along the waterfront, and the alternative view of the liverpool skyline really is something to be in awe of. Enjoy these pictures,

blue skies

38m up and not a care in the world
